Enrico Hufana (2016)

Commercial Real Estate Broker.

The Full Service Project.

Enrico Hufana is a commercial real estate broker in Logan Square, Chicago, who is well informed about the real estate industry and its growth and impact on the city. His job is to focus on researching neighborhoods, its zones and ordinances while finding suitable locations for potential buyers looking to invest in the neighborhood. On top of being a commercial real estate agent, he also renovates homes and brings them up to date with style.

Although most of his work depends on knowledge, information and budget, we wanted to convey to his clients his suave communication and a cool respectable modern image. It was important for us to be able to show his clients at first impression, his trustworthiness and depth of knowledge.

I knew from his taste that our inspiration would be from his home base of Logan Square a bit of french fashion and black and white films.

Using style magazines such as The Satorialist and photographs from Logan Square and Wicker Park I was able to create a mood board to map out what his brand and website would look like. The logo would be inspired by minimal sleek lines, with a bit of point and curve and monotone and the website would accompany the logo with contemporary and classic architecture and sculptures, while showcasing a portfolio of his talents.

INSPIRATION

Architecture, Sculptures, Style, Culture.

Logan Square Monument located at Milwaukee Ave., and Logan Boulevard in a triangle shaped park within Logan Square.

The column is composed of 13 solid marble segments and is based on the same proportions and scale as the columns that make up the colonnade of the Parthenon in Greece.

The monument was designed by Henry Bacon. Reliefs sculpted by Evelyn Beatrice Longman.

AN ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN CLASSIC

LOGAN SQVARE MONVMENT

We use this sculpture as a point of reference for many aspects of the brand. It is the center point for the location in which Enrico Hufana’s research of property starts and expands to the neighborhoods surrounding it. It is also the place of his residence and community interaction. We are able to use the neighborhoods rich culture, hip resources and restaurants as a standard of design sense.

We also use this location which is one of the few distinctive round-abouts in Chicago, as a design asset to the Enrico Hufana brand. The round-about symbolizes Logan Square and depicts a native Chicagoan and a status pride.

We wanted to translate to Enrico’s clients who are viewing the website trust, knowledge, and confidence while keeping a minimal look in cooperation of the brand. What better way than to use the sculpture of the eagle from the monument to convey those important details?

Style & Culture

As we all know first impressions are important, and a modern style can be even more memorable. It’s important to draw inspiration  from fashion because it can give the viewer a sense of the individual. Enrico is a fashionista, whether he considers it or not is irrelevant, but his style must be relevant to logo because in the end, he is his own brand.

The Logo.

We knew what was inspiring to the brand would produce something that was modern and minimal while exuding confidence and strength. It would be designed for the future.

A Tagline, Short & Strong.

Research.
Location.
Acquistion.

We wanted the tagline to be strong, confident, and most importantly straight to the point. Just to let people know “Hey, this guy knows his stuff. He’ll get you what you want.”

Get it done with 3 simple words.

The Site.

The most important part about the design of the website was that it had to be user friendly so Enrico would be able to update real estate information, and properties on his own without the need for a web developer. That was crucial because information and photos would need to be updated every few days.

While making it easy for him to modify, we also wanted to make it easy for potential clients to navigate. The site has a flow direction to guide the users looking for information and how to reach Enrico for his services.

We wanted to support the website with powerful photos, brand cohesiveness and useful information about him and give the readers a background of his previous work. It was important to get across to the user, a feel for his business and build a trust immediately, so it was decided to add a portfolio to accompany that, and to showcase his previous projects that fall in the umbrella of real estate to exhibit a human and creative side.
